Inside the ribs? So if I understand you correctly it's not the rib bone, it's the area behind the ribs? Is it in the center of your chest to the right or left? What makes it worse and what makes it better? Again you don't provide very much information.... so anything would be helpful.
What tests have you had? If the answer is "none" I am going to sound like a broken record and repeat, please consult your physician.
I'll look forward to hearing more from you.
Peace,
~Tuck
YA IT BURNS INSIDE THE RIBS
Sorry, I did not see the age of the poster. Even if they do give it in the hospital, they would have all have the pertinent information there and make sure it would be safe to give it. I probably should have written to call the doctor first rather than last.
Thanks, Tuck! Sometimes I read posts early in the morning or when I'm tired, and I don't check out the profile and age of someone.
Hello Mishe,
A tardy Welcome to the Pain Management Forum. I am sorry to hear about your symptoms.
Please DO NOT take Maalox until you have consulted with your physician. I see you are a senior and sometimes Maalox can interfere with the absorption of medications.
Can you please tell us where the "burning" sensation is located? Is it internal? Is it upper chest, mid or lower chest or near your stomach? What seems to make it worse" Does anything make it better?
Indeed you may have Gastrointestinal issues however it could be something else too. So please see your physician. I also hope you'll let us know how you are doing. We'll look forward to your updates.
Take Care,
~Tuck
All chest pain should be checked by a doctor. But the most reasonable explanation for burning in the chest is indigestion. Try some Maalox. That's usually what they give you in the hospital to see if it helps. But definitely call your doctor and talk to them about it.
