How do you taper of tizanidine (8mg) and xanax (up to 5 mg) a day safely with the least amount of withdrawl symptoms?

Welcome to the Pain Management Forum.

As you can see by the above two wise responses, tapering needs to be supervised by a Medical Provider. It's not advisable to offer tapering or similar advice... as we are not experts and don't know your Big Picture. There are so many things need that must be taken into consideration when discontinuing a medication.

I would get your drs advice on this one or if you didn't want to ask your doctor try your pharmacist. There is a proper way to taper off those meds.

I don't know anything about tizanidine.  I do know you need to be very careful with Xanax.  Are you under a doctor's supervision with your taper?
