is this possible ?

i have been off methadone (40mg pr day)(was on it for 5 yrs) for 2 months now and still cant slep more than 2hrs at a time 2 times a 24hr period.
also have other dt symptoms.
is this normal?
and my pain dr said i now have rls, is it possible to get rls from methadone?
dr said i cant still have dt symptoms and wants me to try other opiates for my pain but im not sure if its a good idea yet?

The doctor is wrong -- I haven't slept properly for over three years since stopping methadone. Many others have had the same problem with reported sleep disturbance for 6 months or more.

Were you rotated to another opioid analgesic? Why was the methadone stopped?

Before trying other opiates, please post this on the substance abuse forum.  (And not because I think you're an addict.)  There ae many people who've gone through this.  The symptoms you're having are from the methadone.  They can give you lotsmof ways to deal with what you're going through.  Good luck.
