going for pre employment testing thurs. Belong to pain manag. Presently prescribed oxycontin and oxycodone for break through. Do I need to disclose both scripts or just codone script. Worried about the admitting I take both. Have been taking both fo 10 yrs. have tolerence but do not take extra . Only what is prescribed. I am worried about being judged . we all no how oxycontin is viewed. If I just list codone will I test pos for oxycontin. Appreciate advise

I guess because I am a nurse , i no how this is viewed. They are asking to list all meds. I have decided to list them and leave it in Gods hands. My previos job in a hosp. never asked to list meds. I came out pos. for oxycodone and showed them my bottle with no ques. asked.thank you for your input. test is tom. at 1;30

I am just about positive, (I know that helps!) but since they are the same chemical, just enteric coating on the oxycontin in order to slow the release of medication. At any rate, I know how you feel about being judged even when you know how much the medication is necessary for comfort for your daily living.I am embarrassed to present my morphine script at the pharmacy. How crazy is that? Good luck with the employment prospect.

It all depends on how they ask the question on the paperwork. If they ask for you to list "all" medications you are taking. Then you need to write down the two specific medications individually.
If they ask the question in a way that only asks what type of medication you take..then that is different.
I'm not sure why you are worried that writing both down is somehow worse than just one. Many people, especially chronic pain patients, are on a long acting medication and one for breakthrough.
Because you have prescriptions for both of these medications, that is all that they care about and that you aren't applying for a job where any type of opiate is prohibited (like a Police Officer or Truck/Bus Driver)
You should be just fine:)
