oxymorphone not on blue cross anthem

I am now on medicare and anthem blue cross will only provide me with a 30 day supply.  The reason given is that oxymorphone HCL ER 7.5 MG TAB is not on their formulary.  Without the insurance this medication cost $300.00.  I take it 2 x a day and it is very addictive. I did think that we/they understood that using blue cross was an option only if this drug was covered.  What to do?....
In continuing, it seems I've come to the wrong site.  If anyone know how to order prescription drugs through Canada please let me know.  Thank you.

Thanks for the response.  Hopefully, the situation with the formulary drug has been taken care of.  A phone call, not a letter, to the insurance co. by a person in the doctor's office will satisfy the need for this particular drug. I was given only 2 weeks to deal with this situation, and as already stated, this is a very addictive drug.  Therefore, the near panic in my questions.  Thank you.

Thank you for your response.  My "pain" doctor is calling blue cross to say  this is a necessary drug.  This is supposed to take care of it.  Again, thank you.

Hi there...

Sorry to hear of your issues...

I agree with Ginger in that it would be best to speak with your Dr. and find another medication that is on your drug plan. I have moved to many different meds over the years based on changing health plans and even now without any insurance. I have worked with my PM with both pain relief but least expensive.

In the US...it is illegal to buy any narcotics online from another country.

That is different than going through your insurance company who orders them and then ships to you. That comes from a distributor/Pharmacy that is monitored by the DEA and everything is legal.

So, I would think your easiest choice is to meet with your PM and discuss the other options for medications...

Good luck

Im not familiar with ordering meds from Canada but I wonder if that is even possible to do since it's a narcotic your looking for. I know blue cross and Medicare will not approve narcotics to be mail ordered thru their express scripts pharmacy. If your looking for a narcotic similar to what your taking you can have blue cross send you a list of all the meds they cover and give it to your PM doc. Your PM doc can choose what med he/she feels will work best for you and be covered under your insurance.
Good luck to you!
