pain after surgery

I had surgery last week and my doctor gave me some oxicodon and tylenol pills for the after surgery pain and I already took all of them and I still have pain and discomfort and i don't want to take more pills because I know I can get hooked on and also because I am not a pill taker or quimical pain killer taker but at this point I need some pain killers,so does anyone knows an alternative? or should I get more oxicodon? help please it really hurts..:(

You just had surgery and are likely to be in a lot of pain.  I don't agree with the above response given that fact.  I have had 33 surgeries and often the doctor would just start me out with a certain number of pills right after surgery not knowing how many I might need because everyone responds differently to after surgery pain and everyone heals at a different rate.  Of course these drugs should be taken carefully, as prescribed knowing that they do have a habit forming potential.  That being said if you are still needing stronger pain relief just let you doctor know.  I am sure it's not a problem. Your surgery was just a week ago and it's a little pre mature to be getting overly worried about it just yet in my opinion.

You were prescribed percocet, oxycodone and tylenol a powerful opiate based pain relievers that are highly addictive.  I guess my question is did you take them as prescribed?  Sounds like you didn't and if so the doctor who gave you the script is not about to give you more if he thinks you abused them.  That's just the legal battles the doctor faces.  If you are still in pain, you could call him/her and see what they might do for you.  The other is try some advil (ibupropen), heat? ice?
