pain/shortness of breath

pain in upper right side, short of breath. started about 2 wks ago. pain management dr increased my fentnyl patch from 50mg to 75mg, i had stroke and i'm diabetic so thats why i need pain medicine. i am thinking the increase in pain meds might be the cause of shortness of breath. i had an appt with the pain m. dr today but just couldnt go, its a 50mi trip 1 way. regular dr thurs. so any help would be appreciated.

hi and thank you for your help. i have an appt with pain management dr fri. then next week my regular dr. its time for lab work and a general going over.

Hi!
Yes, muscle pains and cramps along with shortness of breath can be due to fentanyl. However chest pain with shortness of breath should be investigated ASAP for heart attack/angina and pulmonary embolism (clots in lung), especially since you have history of diabetes and stroke.
