tested postive but negative

i was discharged last week from my pain management doctor because according to them, i tested negative for the meds they prescribe, but positive for one im not prescribed. im on opana er (oxymorphone) 5mg x2 day, neurantin 300mg x3 day, hydrocodone 7.5mg x1 day, ambien 10mg x1 night, synthroid 225mcg x1 night, alegra180 mg x1 day, and benedryl as needed. I have thyroid cancer, a poor diet, drink soda all the time, and am overweight.  I tested postive however for oxycodone, which im not taking.  i was told by my doctor that the opana would test positive only for oxymorphone, and not oxycode.  I have NEVER abused ANY drugs, and have a low tolerance for most of these medications, how can i prove that there was a mistake?

thank you very much Tuck for your response. I am still in shock over the whole thing and am litterally at a loss for words.  I went to base and requested the following day, that they order a new test, that i would give them blood, hair, saliva, urine, and anything else to prove my innocence.  I wouldnt fight this fight if i had something to hide.  my husband, my kids, and even friends have seen me take my meds, so now i have schedualed an appt for tomorrow with base legal, as my base doc called me back yesterday and said they couldnt order tests like that for this case, and the only thing they can do is try to have another clinic take me on.  this isnt going to end well.  i feel like my name has been drug though the dirt, and theres nothing i can do about it

Hello and Welcome!

My heart goes out to you. Unfortunately I read this far too many times. Urine Drug Screens are notoriously inaccurate! How can you prove the test was wrong???? You can't. Your PMP must follow his/her office rules and the contract you signed. DEA monitors these PM Clinics and insist on strict adherence to the regulations.

It's my guess your PMP has a good idea of the inaccuracies of the Drug Screens.... but has no other way to monitor his/her patients without utilizing the test results.

I would write a letter to the PMP detailing your innocencec. Be sure to request that the letter be placed in your medical records. It may not help you with your current PMP but it will be in your records.

Immediately begin searching for a new PMP. It will take time to find one and obtain an appointment. Keep a copy of the letter as you may want to use it when meeting with your new PMP.

I know it doesn't help but you are not alone. This happens more frequently that you think. Good luck to you and please let us know how you are doing.

Peace,
~Tuck
