Hi. My Neurologist thinks I may have TN. Whatever it is it is KILLING me.... I have been in the ER 4 times in 2 years for attempting suicide due to this pain. Write back if you'd like. Good luck. Dee.
Hello Samah,
Welcome to the Pain Mangement Forum. I am sorry that you are suffering with trigeminal neuralgia. It is a painful condition that can be challenging to control and treat.
It takes specialists in Neurology and Neurosurgery to determine the most appropriate treatment to relieve each patients pain. The goal is to avoid facial numbness as much as possible. Successful treatment for the disorder should allow patients to resume an active life. It is my understanding that if surgery is not as effective as hoped it can be repeated several times.
Treatment may include medications, surgery or a combination. Success rates vary from person to person and specialist to specialist. I wish you the best of luck in your search for treatment. Please let us know how you are doing. I will look forward to your updates.
Take Care,
Tuck
Hi samah and welcome to the Pain Forum.
The best thing you can do is to talk with your Doctor about this. Maybe even get a second opinion. All surgeries have their risks no matter what they are. Only you can know whats right for you. Please take care and good luck,
