if there is a weight problem i dont think the right kind of chips is really the answer. first of all you want your child on a diet. only you dont want them to know that they are on it. secondly how fast does your child eat, the brain is ten minutes behind the stomach if you eat fast then you tend to eat a lot more. stay away from prepackaged foods and stick too food that fills you up for a long time beans potatoes etc google foods that keep you full and foods that speed your metabolism like almonds.. it also helps to add ground up mung bean to anything you can it is vertually tasteless and is 60 percent fibre!!.
Thanks for the suggestions, we have already started some of them.
Hey great stuff in Cherie s post , and a bit of fun there aswell, kids like the counting games. Thank you
My younges was over weight I stopped buying junk if its not there she cant eat it. Buy yougerts, sugar free popsyciles, low salt tortilla chips and salsa are always in my home, theyre eating tomatoesm oninons and peppers with out knowin it. learn to label read lots of food has high calories and people forget about portion control, get her involved , at the grocery store say ok our cereal need atleats 5 grams of fiber lets see who can find that, and let her count portions, show her on the side of tortilla chip bag and say see it says one portion is 14 chips so count out14 tplease.make an execsice chart start low with goals if she jumps rope for 5 min thats a star , rids bike up and down street 5 times thts a star and reward her with your time, or a small toy never used food for a reward.
Let her eat, make sure that all the food and snacks in the house are healthy, let her snack to her hearts content, on apples, carrots and any veg, some protein, make sure she isnt unhappy at school or home, and get her doing more outside activities as boredom will make anyone eat and unhappiness, juices , water no sodas or very little. there is a ton of healthy food out there if she puts on weight it is because you have that kind of food in, hows your weight?
