10mo old son having seizures possibly caused by "breath holding" spells??

I have a 10month old son who very recently began having seizures. They are associating them with "breath holding" spells but are concerned because the seizures continue for a minute or more. The usual seizure like activity associated with breath holding only last around 15 seconds and are usually not seizures. He has a very long recovery time associated with seizure episodes but his EEG, CT scan, chest xrays, blood work and EKG all came back normal. They have referred me to a specialist in pediatric neurology but his appt is not for another week. He has had 3 seizures associated with the breath holding and the most recent one was today. The doctors are concerned because it extends beyond the usual breath holding symptoms yet there has been no answers with his tests...any thoughts?

In any of these incidences until you see someone and get answers be prepared to take him to the ER if he seems in more distress,.a week seems a long time to wait..

How long was his EEG? Perhaps you can request a 24-hr inpatient video EEG, to increase your chances of capturing a breath-holding episode? I hope the neurologist has some answers for you. Good luck!
