Almost 3 year old girl is 42 inch and 68 lbs.

Please help,
My daughter will be 3 in August and she is 68 lbs and 42 inches. She has consistently been big since 3 mos old. Always over the 97% percentile. She recently had a bone scan which showed the age of 3.6 years, so it's 8 months off. We have an appointment with a second endo in Mid July, as the first one told us her insulin levels were probably off and there is nothing we can do except put her in sports. (Although her insulin levels came back normal). They test her for acromegaly (she has no symptoms ie rash, forehead, chin) and it showed a slight elevation by a couple numbers.

She eats good, we exercise her, and she still holds the weight and height. I am lost and don't know what to do. Any help would be great. Thank you,

Good to get an update ..I am sorry that ignorant people treat you like that ,you have to rise above it , it hurts but its not you its them with the problem .At 3 you can now start the potty training so that will go away and she will be in big girl underwear, just buy them and remove the pull ups .Its up to her doctor when and if she will be taking meds for the precocious puberty if indeed she has it .they will do another bone scan I am sure and some bloodtests..I am doing some reserach and will put here what I find out about tests .

Hello again,

Sorry for the late replies. I clicked the notify me box when there was updates but never received notification. I figured I would check back just in case and I am so thankful you both have responded back.

I did some research on the symptoms of what you suggested.. Precocious puberty. My daughter doesn't have any of the signs except for her height and weight. Although she does get pretty sweattyn under her armpits, there has not been any body odor. I did see that children tend to gain weight although they are not eating a lot and their height is always above everyone else.

Does anyone have any suggestions on what I should ask the endo to test her for? Another question I have is... If she is in fact diagnosed with precocious puberty, do I have her take meds at such a young age or do they grow into their body?

I stay up at night and worry and I feel like people are constantly judging her by her size and it upsets me.  She  turns 3 in August and is the size of 5 year old, so when I have her in pull ups people give me dirty looks. Although she is a normal healthy little girl, Her weight causes her issues with shoes, clothes, and some activities. I'm also concerned that she is half the size of her 9 yr old sister already.

Thank you for all your advice and I just updated my email again, so hopefully it notifies me this time. I will also be checking back throughout the day. Any advice is always appreciated i have no one else to talk to about my concerns that has any insight and the doctors appts seem to take forever to get.

Hi I am referring back to your post and I was assuming that because they did a bone scan they were of a mind, implying, that it could be precocious puberty, and possibly at her age were keeping an eye on it .  Some further information when you have it would be good ...

Is your daughter having characteristics related to puberty? That is typical with precocious pubertyalong with early maturation of bone age.  That would certainly be scary at 3!

It has become more common place for kids to not have enough growth hormone and perhaps your daughter has the opposite of this.  Has she been tested for that?

Has your doctor implied anything wrong here?  What are they saying?

Precocious Puberty possibly ..seems to be a lot around now, and China is having an epidemic..your daughter is too young possibly at present but I know there is hormonal treatment for this ..You could use input from other parents , I have asked MH for a forum regarding bone age and precocious puberty am still hopeful they will get one going .Mean time I think there are support groups online I will take a look ..
