My 23 months son doesn't talk

dear doctor i have a 23 months old son. he is very active but he is not interested in saying words. he speaks only 4 to 5 words till now. when i tell him to tell something he only reply using gestures. he don't want to speak. me my husband and my son live alone far from our native country and he has very little and alomost no interaction with too many people may be this is the reason he is taking time. i want to know is it normal or not and what should i do.

thankyou

It could well be that it takes longer without interaction, do you and your husband  talk to him a lot, children will respond back. has he music, TV to watch and listen to ? Perhaps you could find on the internet a playgroup or some parks you could take him to so he is meeting others and good for you to meet other Moms .If you are still concerned it may be a good idea to get him checked out at your Doctor's .Good Luck
