My sons fevers have returned......................

By now I am sure some of you all know Brocs history.Well he spiked another fever this Sat.It started at 103 and stayed like that for 2 days.It came down slightly with Tylenol. We took him to see his dr incase he had an ear infection or strep throat but nothing was found. His dr ordered the cbc and blood culture as he did most of last year when he had his high fevers. It came back with a wbc of 2.2. He said that the range for his age is 6-1500. So now he is retesting him again on Wed to see if they have gone up and if not then we are off the ID dr again.I really thought this cycle was done with.We are fearful that there really is something wrong with him and they missed it last year. His lowest wbc last year was 5.2.He has never dropped lower than that. Please could someone give us some advice.

thanks if you look on the http://www.medhelp.org/posts/Parenting-Toddlers-1-5/Recurring-HIGH-fever-in-a-1-year-old/show/353218?personal_page_id=893678#post_5566710
that link and look for my posts under protea then you will find that we battled with this since June 28 last year.he was in the hospital twice and saw every specialist out there. He also has a heart condition. He even had his immune function tested and everything came out normal, so it was really hard for me to buy the virus theory. He is going for his second blood test today so I will let you know what happens. Thanks for your concern.

well his high fevers would be from the low wbc count, as his body can't fight off viruses and bacteria as well. there are so many things that can cause low wbc counts. I'd have to know a lot more about his history to get an idea...

does he have bad allergies? any other medical problems?
