lack of urination

My daughter has been "holding" her urine for excessively long periods of time--12 hours one day and 191/2 on another.  She is 3 years old and not toilet trained..she has a fear of releasing into the toilet.   We have changed nothing in the last 3 days, but she did have a UTI at the end of November.  I am a bit worried about this, but was wondering if I should pursue something immediately or wait and see if it is a behavioral issue.  Thanks!

I have a similar problem and am very curious if you were able to over come the fear of urinating in the toilet??? I have tried absolutely everything except hypnosis, a bit extreme but our son is older. I have read many books on anxieties and fears but still haven't had sucess.

It may just be a behavioral issue.  If she continues to do this it can cause a nasty uti. As my daughter was doing something very similiar and ended up with a uti and on bactrim for 10 days
