White Tongue with Bumps Associated With Cold Symptoms

My daughter has been sick for a few days - cough, runny nose, congestion, and chapped lips although no fever to speak of.

Today, when giving her some Chloraseptic, I noticed her tongue.  There was an hourglass shapped area that was whitish, and all along the border between the white a pink areas were dozens if raised bumps.  I have a pretty high res photo, if this will let me post it.

The cold symptoms didn't worry me - its her first year in school, and she is sick often.  But the tongue is disturbing.  Any idea what it could be?

Those three forums are Pediatric Endocrinology, Pediatric Heart, and Pediatric Transplant.  None of those really apply here.
