worried mom

My son got shot in the eye and still had 20/20 vision that night at the hospital.  36 hours later his vision started going blurry.  When I took him back to the hospital on day 3 his vision was 20/100. I am taking him to a ophthalmologist as soon as they will see him.  I am just worried about how much eye damage he could have.  Two doctors visits later and I don't feel like i have any real answers.

I have a son in baseball and I have been warned about that.  Eye injuries can be funny because the damage isn't always immediately obvious.  I have been told that any bump to the eye should be checked right away because the damage can be lessened if diagnosed quickly.  There is a camera that can see inside the eye where they should be able to see what is wrong.  Is there an opthamologist on staff at your hospital?
