Share Your Story! Was Your Surgery a Success or a Failure?

Hello,

When I was first going for plastic surgery, I really honestly didn't have a good resource to look at the chances of success and failure because there's just too much marketing stuff! You guys know how overwhelming that can be.

We want to hear your story, good or bad. As a tool to help people on the fence, we are compiling and sharing an awesome resource for free that helps anyone considering plastic surgery to make an informed decision. If your plastic surgery was a success or failure and you want to help out a fellow strange online, share your story in our book. Obviously, there are privacy concerns so you don't have to give any more information than you're comfortable sharing. Your first name is all we'll use and the rest will be done purely anonymously. It's just to help out anyone who wants honest information.

I know that people will love this because it's going to help out a lot of people so thanks in advance for sharing your story!

If you'd like to share your story, you can email me here: ***@****

You don't say what kind of surgery you're planning..that would help. Personally, my decsion to have an abdominoplasty (tummy tuck) and some liposuction done on my flanks was after much dieting and the end result of having had 5 c sections--huge flabby belly that no amt of exercise could have flattened or even helped...but I did a lot of research and got 2 different drs opinions..and still waited as I was so scared. I DID have the procedures 6 weeks ago and found that MY experience was vastly different from the "normal" ones. I had a lot of anxiety and inability to sleep, I developeda terrible  post op infection that set me back weeks in healing time, I have honestly never had pain like this in my life---yet, even as I sit here, with 3 open incisions from the infection that won't probably heal for a couple more weeks, and fatigue and irritablilty from the non-stop pain--I'd probably do this again. I'd take better care of myself, I did not have a good "support group" and that's my own fault, I don't ask for help easily and I didn't want to bother anyone. No one can predict 100% how you will look or feel post surgery--you have to have realistic expectations and know that no kind of surgery will "fix" all problems. Personally, I will NEVER have another procedure done on myself, ever. But I think I will eventually be OK from this one. My DIL had breast augmentation 3 months ago and she hates it--she has to have hers totally re-done (they "fell" he dr said) and she is furious and miserable. She also didn't take the appropriate time to heal..so you kind of get what you get if you don't plan to really take good care of yourself. That seems to be very important. What are you planning on having done? I had a rhinoplasty/septum repair 5 years ago and it was 100% awesome--but then the recovery was a week!
