I've got PCOS now what? help

Hi everyone, I'm 27 and have recently been told after an ultra sound that I've got PCOS.
My husband and I have been trying to conceive for about a year and a half but no luck I'm heartbroken :-(
I had loads of blood tests which have confirmed that I don't seem to be ovulating.
What happens now I'm not over weight and am pretty healthy.  We've ben referred to our local fertility clinic and should be seeing someone in about six weeks, can anyone offer any help in what to expect with treatment and if I've got any chances of being a mum?

Thanks xxx

sorry to hear that you have pcos too. i'm 25 and i'm finally starting to take it seriously. my partner and i are trying to concieve using donor sperm. it's going to be a long and expensive process but it will be worth it.  i was diagnosed when i was about 16 yrs old, it took my mom 8 years to concieve but it finally happened. she also has pcos. they put me on metformin and that seems to be helping to regulate my hormones a little more. just wait to see what they say. there are some pretty neat things that fertility clinics have access to that we may not have even heard about yet...i'll keep my fingers crossed for you! i'm sure that when it finally does happen whether it's biologically yours or adoption (as a fall back) your little bundle of joy will never cease to amaze you!

I'm so sorry that you have PCOS too... but its not the end of the world. I was diagnosed back in February. I'm surprised they sent you straight to a fertility clinic for treatment. PCOS is a hormonal imbalance that an Endocrinologist typically treats. After seeing him, and typically being put on metformin for at least 3 months, then you head towards the fertility clinic. I was on metformin for the past 6 months and responded pretty well to it. This is the most regular my monthly has EVER been. I start Clomid tomorrow and then we shall see after that. There is  certainly plenty of hope for getting pregnant with PCOS. I friend of mine was diagnosed with it a little over a year ago. She did 3 months metformin, round of Clomid, then two more rounds of Clomid with artificial insemination.. she had twin boys 3 months ago. This was after trying for almost 10 years to get pregnant! I hope this helps you out some!

Best of luck and keep me posted!
