is this a symptom?

It is believed by myself and alot of people around me that i have PCOS. For a few months now i have had tender breasts (I am not pregnant). Now i have a scab on my one nipple and my breast hurt sometimes unbearably. is this a symptom of PCOS or should i get this checked out?

Hi,

I think you should go to the doctor.  I would not wait, as it seems like you have had this for a few weeks already and not gotten better.  I have PCOS, but never had that as a symptom.  I think it would be better to know what is causing this for you and see what kind of treatment you can get.

Also, for PCOS I would recommend seeing an Endocrinologist to find out about it.  If you do have it and want to have children it may be very important.  Sometimes the hormones that are affected can cause problems in preg, but if you know ahead of time they can be treated prior to conception.  Let me know if you want to know more.

Take care and let me know what the doctor says.  At least  you could call and talk to a nurse.  Do you have health insurance?  If not, there are clinics to go to also.  Just thinking of you and I know it is hard not wanting to know what is going on.  I think peace of mind may help you feel better once you know what it is and how to deal with it.

I will be thinking of you.
