Hi there,
Nice to read abt ur comments....I m 24yrs ,got married last yr...ttc...I put on 10 kgs since last yr.....My doctor has given me metformin.....I dont know whther she gave this for weight reduction or pcos....if one is going through with pcos ,and lose the weight ,can she get preganant?
I was diagnosed with PCOS in May. They started me on Metformin at 500mg 2x/day, which was too harsh on my stomach. They dropped me down to 250mg 2x/day, which I seem to tolerate ok. I've lost about 10 lbs so far--since May, but I've given up my fast food, and soda-diet & regular. You might want to try doing something along those lines first. I was on Atkins about 4 years ago, and it's really, really tough. I lost 55lbs while on it, and then got pregnant. Of course, it all came back. Whatever you do, try to start out slow! Otherwise, if you jump in, and give up everything that you love, you'll burn out, and fall on your face. Trust me, I've been there! My OBGYN told me to treat the PCOS first, the weight would follow on it's own--with the help of Metformin. So far so good.... Good luck!
The only thing I know if is atkins..
