I agree with wanabb, I had my laprascopic with ovarian drilling done on may 4th and am now pregnant.  We aren't yet sure if the pregnancy is viable, but at least we know that I am ovulating, and my hcg levels are rising correctly - we just cant see anything on a vaginal ultrasound.  I wish you the best of luck, and hope that your doctor is willing to listen to valid points about all of your options.

I wish you luck Tina, but please do your research before taking clomid.  The metformin will help you lose weight if you are good about taking it along with a healthy diet and both can help you get pregnant.  That is how I got pregnant the first time. I did miscarry, but I don't think it had anything to do with the Metformin.  The second time I got pregnant was with Metformin and Clomid, but it was a tubal pregnancy and I lost my left filopian tube.  Turns out, Clomid may have actually caused the tubal pregnancy.  There is a reason doctors don't just hand the drug out and your doctor probably knows what is best for your health.  Just take it in to consideration.  I wish I had known all the risks before taking it.

Hey Tina,
I was diagnosed in March with PCOS which made me really upset because I really want baby#2 and this time its actually planned! My daughter is 4yoa and I had her with no complications and didnt have PCOS at the time, when me and my DH found out i had PCOS we started doing research just like WANABB and when we had our next appt i told my doctor we wanted to start treatments, although me and my doc have a lil history she wanted me to just start on metformin 1500mg a day for 3mos then try the first round of clomid. My DH told her we wanted a baby like yesterday and she finally agreed to start me on Meformin and Clomid 100mg. im at the waiting phase now to see if it worked.

So I said all this to basically say I would call her/him and express how desperately you want a baby, and hopfulli she will give it to you

GOOD LUCK

When I found out through research of my own that ovarian drilling was my best option.  I printed out my research stats and all and met with my doctor and presented everything and said this is what I want.  not only was he impressed by my knowledge on the subject  but he didn't even argue he said I made valid points and scheduled the surgery.

If you think clomid is what you want (you know how I feel about clomid) do the research on overweight women with PCOS, metformin, and the addition of clomid.  list the pros and cons and take it to your doctor.  This way he knows that you are well aware of the risk and possible complications.  good luck, he will respect what you have to say as long as he feels your informed.
