metformin as fertility drug?

So me and my husband have been going to fertility clinic for just under 2 years now, as although I already have a daughter from a previous relationship we have been unable to conceive.  Our consultant told us I had pcos (which I think deep down I already knew). Throughout the 2 years we have been going I have been on clomid starting on 50 mg then gradually increasing to 150mg as my day 21 progesterone tests which I have each month (the months that I have a cycle that is) come back every time that I don't ovulate. Anyway I have just come home from my latest appointment with our consultant to be told I am still not ovulating and if we had the option of ivf ( we don't due to me already conceiving my daughter naturally) that would of been our next step. Instead she has put me on metformin and a low carbs low sugar diet. Is there anyone out there who has know of this being a success? It would be great to hear some other peoples stories or advice.

hi, i haven't heard of this, but im sure there are success stories regarding this matter. From what I've been told and read online, exercising just 30 mins a day can regulate the hormones and therefore, relieve symptoms of pcos, meaning the progesterone and estrogen levels begin to return to normal and therefore bring about ovulation...I hope this helps..
