Just wondering???

I have been DX with PCOS and just wondering how many women on here have that and have gotten pregant i have taken 6 rounds of clomid and no luck with that and my hubby also has a low sperm count but good motility. I am just really nervous that I am not gunna be able to have a child of my own so if you have any stories with a happy ending i would love to hear them to give me hope.

When i did the first round of clomid in Sept 08 i got pregnant! but unfortunately, had a m/c too. after that, the next 4-5 rounds of clomid didnt' work. We tried Menopur (injections) and it wasn't working either. Drs couldn't get the dose right. it was costing me $$$$$ and i couldn't afford it anymore. Plan was to get back on hubby;s insurance so we can have double coverage... and start again in Jan 2010. We stopped injections at the end of May 09. I have pcos and don't ovulate on my own. To my surprise i ovualted on my own after stopping the meds on CD 30!!! my cycle was about 45 days long!!! in hopes of ovulating on my own again i kept close track of my basal temp and cm. The next cycle, i ovulated on my own again! this time on cd 33 and 2 weeks ago i got a BFP!!!!! People always say that once you stop meds and "relax" you'll get pregnant. i refuse to believe it and when i did stop meds, i also stopped stressing about it each month. and we were blessed with this pregnancy. (we've been trying for 2 years). so, yes i believe there is hope when you least expect it. It will happen. there are so many options out there too...

Hey ladies...I just wanted to say keep your heads up...Don't give up...My story...my  husband and i had tried for 3 years on our own...cause of no insurance....than in jan of this year we had finally gotten insurance...thank god...first thing i did was make an appointment with and ob/gyn that is affiated with a fertility clinic here in okc...anyways i went in and told the doc that i think i have pcos so he ran the bloodwork and did the ultrasound and confirmed that i did in fact have pcos...ugh...i was right...well he then proceeded to tell me that he would have me pregnant within a year...he tried clomid for 5 cylces and i would ovulate off of them but not as well as he wanted me too....then in july on my month of rest he had me do a hsg proceedure...It was all good...so then in august when i started my next cycle after my month of rest he started a drug called femara on me...i took it just like i had tooken the clomid...but this drug was much better on the side effects...plus i came across a device that is called the ov watch and so now as i am writing this i am 5wks3days pregnant...so don't give up...keep your head up...and don't be afraid to try something else if what you are doing now is not getting the results you want...never the less it doesn't hurt to ask your doc if there is something else you could be trying...good luck and lots of baby dust...hoping you all get that little miracle soon...god bless

You can get copies of all your medical records you have that right it might be about 20.00 to get them but you can get copies and transfer them to any doctor...I have PCOS and we have been trying for almost a year...We got married 9/27/08 and after that we decided off of BC and it was fair game then in February when I stopped getting a period I started the process. I have an awesome DR that wrote every step to take down and she was very quick about it.  She explained the outcomes and the statistics to me and told me what we would have to go through. Seriously though check into university hospitals sometimes they even have trial programs and will do procedures for FREE :)  they work with you a lot more then normal doctors as far as payment goes because they are a university hospital. About 8 years ago I had two kidney surgeries at Oregon Health and Sciences University and that was a great expierence I love that hospital the only thing now is that I have moved further away so it is about an hour drive where as my DR is about 20 mins and the hospital closest to our home is about 15 mins...My DH had an SA and it came back on the low end of normal so my DR said that it should be fine...It is one of the most frustrating things and my friends all say to relax and it will happen but that is so hard...I am on Clomid 50MG CD 3-7 and it has worked for me I am ovulating on it so there is hope but I hear so many mixed stories about how it did work and didn't work so I am not sure what to believe every month when AF comes there is a melt down we jsut have to take things one day at a time and hope for the best...Good luck and I want to know how the RE goes so keep me posted...I go in on the 22nd too for bloodwork to make sure that I ovulated this month too...

I will keep you updated i go back to the RE on the 22nd to get all mine and my hubbys results and see what he can recommend to help us get preggo. I really appreciate you talking to me. If you dont mind me asking whta is your story and what problems TTC are you having ???

thanks girls for the words of encouragement and it feels good to have someone truley understand me and my complications with getting preggo but i know it will happen one day because i will not give up until i have a precious baby in my arms:-) And I am on the right track i had my HSG done today and it was so painless i was all nervous and it was like a 30 second procedure and really painless but the good news was that my tubes are not blocked at all yeah for me . And my insurance does not cover iui or ivf either but i have to try something and the iui is $3,000 with my RE and i am at least gunna try it once and cross my fingers and pray

Yeah my husband is the same way I explained to him the other day that I cannot get pregnant by drinking the water we have to be mechanic about it LOL I know everyone around me is pregnant too and that makes it even worse...I am on CD14 and my monitor told me I have not ovulated this month so I have to call the DR this morning to get on for the CD21 blood test to see if I did or not...Our insurance does not cover IUI or IVF or injecctions so I am trying to really find a path that they will pay for first...I wish you luck with the IUI I have heard good things about that and lots of success rates...Keep me posted and if you need an ear I am here!

I did not ovulate at all with the clomid and i was on 100mg days 5-9  and i went in once for a blood test and  i didnt ovulate. I have already purchased the clear blue easy fertility monitor and it is really easy to use but that also told me that i did not ovulate. i am currently seeing a RE and he says that i will hae to probably start doing injections because the clomid is not working for me. He said that usually after 6 rounds if u dont become pregant then that drug probably wont work for you . But i also agree that every situation is different it just stinks because all my co-workers and friends are having babies and i want one so bad and it is not happening for me and none of my friends really unnderstand what is going on because they just think about getting pregant and boom they are pregant. I just hope that the RE gives me some good news at the end of all the test. But it looks like injections and IUI is gunna be my option because hubby also has a low sperm count. Oh yea and i here you on the compassion things men just dont get it my hubby just tells me relax it will happen and i feel like yelling at him and telling him no it wont just happen not for us because we are broken lol

I was DX in June 2009...It was a very heartbreaking thing for me to hear but I have decided I am not going down without a fight!  I really believe it all depends on the situation each individual is in...Did you ovulate at all on the Clomid?  What dose were you on?  Were you going in for bloodtests on CD 21? I just finished my second Clomid cycle...It is working but I have not gotten pregnant yet.  Everyone says relax and it will happen but that is very hard to do!  One thing my DR suggested was buying the Clearblue Easy Fertilty Monitor...199.99 a little spendy but very worth it!  I tell it my first day of my period and it does the rest tells me when to pee on the stick and gives results whether I am fertile or not within 5 minutes and it is very accruate.  It said I ovulated last month but I went to the DR for a 21 day progesterone test to make sure and I did...I am on  Clomid 50MG days 3-7 it seems to be working but yes very frustrating all I have is my husband to confide in and he is a typical man so the compassion does not always flow LOL I find this site very helpful to read and I am always hear to lend an ear...  I got lucky I have a wonderful DR that mapped out everything for me...
