I had the ovarian drilling procedure November 2, 2012. I have PCOS and was able to have a successful pregnancy in 2010, the only treatment that was required was 100mg clomid and 1 ovidrel shot. This time around we haven't had any luck with that and adding an additional ovidrel shot. My body did seem to respond well after surgery but so far nothing has happened. I'm not sure what our next steps will be. We have actually done 2 rounds of IUI without any luck.
As far as the surgery goes, I thought it went very well and recovery went rather quick. I had never had a surgery before so I didn't know what to expect. In fact, my 3 incision spots are very faint now.
HI,
Management of PCOS has two options – medical and surgical. If there is resistance to clomid other drugs like gonodatropins can be used for induction of ovulation. Ovarian drilling is a surgical procedure and recent studies suggest no major advantage over medical management. Discuss with your Doctor. Hope this helps.
Take care and good luck.
