Pcos and ill treatment

Hi,
I have been diagnosed with Pcos since last september. I am having a constant weight gain ande extra hair growth from last 2 or 3 years. plus i m depressed most of the time so i use anti depressant. My Blood Pressure is always above 140.
I am from pakistan and ive been showing it to 2 gynaecologists since last september, all they are focussing is on my elevated prolactin level which was 36ng/ml at first now 30 and now normal 21.
I am not satisfied with the treatment. All  i want to ask is that was only parlodel enough for my pcos treatment? and i havent been taking parlodel in routine as i feel sick of nausea and vomiting.
Please help me members!

Binkey i guess i should be consulting an endocrinologist now as gynaecologists here in Pakistan are mostly dealing with pregnancies and they dont have much knowledge regarding any issue other than pregnancies and operations lol. thanks

I know all to well the troubles that PCOS brings since I've been arguing with doctors since i was 16 and they wouldn't listen.I was "officially" dx in 2005 but i knew what i had long before. I struggle with hair were is shouldn't be, no periods but pms queen, have gone thru the depression, infertile, endometrial hyperplasia, biopsies, girl the works. first off u need a reproductive endocrinologist ( will treat the pcos and fertility aspect)  a regular gyn may know a thing or to but with the years I've suffered i realized its a hormone problem and therefore a doctor who specializes in hormones needs to handle it. . while metformin does work along with birth control to "regulate" ur period i find it stupid when hello I can't get pregnant to begin with ( like i said i argued a lot..lol). so get yourself a reproductive endo and have them a full hormone panel on you. i can ramble on and on so ask any question u want in particular.

Hmmm...sorry to hear your so frustrated but I've realized that finding a doc that knows how to treat PCOS is like finding a needle in a haystack. Have you seen your endcrinologist, im assuming you have and had bloodwork done since u mentioned your prolactin levels. I was diagnosed in 2006 and no one ever tried to 'treat' me outside of Birth control pills until i mentioned i was TTC. At that point my blood tests were run and found all levels normally BUT testosterone was elevated. I'm not IR (insulin resistant), but was given Metformin. Which is not a fertility drug, but for some does help restore regular AF and lose weight, help with the carb cravings. Id mention Metformin to them, if they dont even want to listen, I would do some researching into finding a better doctor that actual deals with PCOS patients and you feel is taking your concerns more serious. Hope that helped!
