PCOS is a chronic condition, meaning you will always have it, unless you have your ovaries removed. That being said, you body can go through phases where it can be worse than others. You may have very few cysts and symptoms under treatment and good management, but it's not a cure. Birth control can help quite a bit, as it prevents ovulation, and formation of cysts, but once you discontinue birth control, the cysts can come back. Your cycle could be delayed due to your history of the PCOS. You should check in with your doctor this week though because of your late cycle.
