just curious

I am diagnosed with pcos. I started having my periods when i was almost 14 and everything was fine. Two years later, I bled for 3 months straight (light) and decided to see the doctor. I got on birth control for a year. After getting off birth control, I had one normal period then nothing for 6 months. I finally got it in august of this year and nothing again. Will this ever straighten out? I was curious to know: I recently went to the doctor 3 months ago and she said to come back in a couple months if I still didn't get a period and she would start it, how do doctors start a period? Thanks.

Thanks Dnarose, my doc did mention giving me metformin the last time i went in. She gave me pills for a skin rash that was on my chest, shoulders, and back and also birth control and she didn't want to start me on too many pills at once.  I have an appointment to get on metformin this next tuesday. The weird thing is though that some people on here were saying that they had blood tests done to diagnose them with pcos but I never had any tests. Thanks again for giving me advice. I appreciate it.

i am 21 years, started menstruating at 15 and do have my period regularly but after a while had series of missed period which later regulated itself without taken any medication. After visiting a friend in a school and using their toilets, i realised some itching and swollen in my virginal which lasted few days and was followed by missed period. The itching and swell does repeat for some months. And i later  discovered a smell frrom my private part. After two months that experience, my menstraution cycle started increasing by one day.from 28 days until it increase to 35 days. It stayed at 28 days for another few months until last month where it increased to 39 days and when it came, was so little(flow), very little, i havent experience it that little before. But this month, it isnt coming at all. Is 33 days okay for menstral cycle?
I just want to ask if it could be toilet disease, or an urinary infection or what else can it be?
Funny enough, i am just planning to visit a Doctor. Possibly, go for series of test.
Pls contribute. i need advice. I am very shy of  saying it out. That is the burden i have been carrying around

Metformin may help. I suggest if you do go on it that you get the extended release. There's less gastric upset. Another thing that might help is USP grade progesterone cream.  I know of many who had irregular periods and the cream straigtened i out. I've been using the cream for 5 years now and have regular periods with no PMS.

This is exactly what happened to me, they kept starting it for me.

Found out I have pcos and they gave me metformin. Looks like my cycle might be back on its own.
