Baby should be perfectly fine. I threw up for 2 days this last halloween and had bowel problems too. But in Dec I gave birth to a very healthy baby boy who is now BIGGER at 4mo than his 20mo old big brother (big brother was a heart baby and has down syndrome)
The others said it all, but I wanted to say I hope your feeling better soon! Pregnant and sick...ugh, not fun at all!! Take care and lots of fluids.
From what I have seen, emitrol is listed as a safe medication to take during pregnancy. Sorry that you are feeling so bad. The good news is that GI viruses rend to be short lived. Try to stay hydrated as best as you can - eat ice chips if you cannot keep water down.
hope you feel better
there is a stomach bug going around where i live....my neighbor had to run to 2 different pharmacies for emitrol for me because the other one was out....i thought first thing in the morning it was morning sickness but this was more violent than my morning sickness ever was
my son came home from school friday and he threw up 2x and then was fine...im pretty sure i picked it up from him
im glad i have a doppler at home and the baby's heartbeat has been fine
Are you certain it's not morning sickness? Flu isn't marked by vomiting, (unless it's H1N1, which sometimes is) and it's also not really flu season. I'm not trying to quibble about what you're sick with or anything, but if you figure out that it is food poisoning, it could be worthwhile to try to figure out if the food poisoning was caused by listeria. (It's not good to get listeria when pregnant.) The good news is that listeria isn't the most common form of foodborne pathogen, there are plenty of other ways to get food poisoning. It's also much more common for a pregnant woman to throw up from morning sickness. In any case, it sounds awful, I hope it's all over soon. Sorry, don't know the answer about emitrol, but you could certainly google it to find out. (Given that your doc knows you are pregnant, it's hard to believe you would be told to take it if it is bad when you're pregnant.)
