My daughter has severe reflux and we have to watch her diet as anything other than a loose stool will cause isdues. We stay away from banana and blueberry and do high fiber with pears apples and cherries.

I am currently on an Activa,  prune, oatmeal, salad keep thing going right. With a daily stool softener and 160 oz of water. I dealt with constipation for months before I found something that worked.

Are you on iron tablets? Some synthetic iron supplements cause bad constipation. Pregnancy itself causes constipation because our bodies work more efficiently getting more nutrients from the food so things do down. Try drinking prune juice and also drink plenty of water - have a glass before every meal to help move things along. I also like to use psyllium husks, which you get in any health food shop. Sprinkle on your cereal every day. They are a great natural laxative and actually the main ingredient in many of the expensive products you buy in a pharmacy. They will also help remove toxins from your body so they are a great cleanse for your insides. Hope you sort it soon...definitely don't fit on the toilet and strain as you don't want haemorrhoids as well.

Constipation is horrible & I took about anything & everything but nothing worked until I took MiraLax. I take it once a day & sometimes 2x a day. I'm 32wks & I've been on it since the beginning of my 2nd trimester.  It took like three days to get it started but it works my cramping & pain isn't that and now...

Plenty of fruit n fiber, same problem n caused lots of pain but I'm eating fiber for breakfast n lots of fruit n thank god it's sorted itself out :) it's normal for pregnancy plus if you've given up smoking it can be a side effect of that, it's scary though some days cause of the extra pain it causes. As I said, lots n lots of fruit, fiber n all the good stuff :)

Take one tablespoonful of high-quality olive oil every day.  It's not too hard to just put it in a spoon and swallow it, or you can put it on a salad.  But be sure to take that much.  Either that or a fiber gummy.
