Right, that is what I meant by maybe you had a chemical pregnancy. That is a pregnancy that begins and then ends rather quickly, a miscarriage doesn't even happen in an obvious way, but if you are testing, you'll come up with a positive and it will be followed rather quickly by a negative. The sequence of events is that an embryo begins, and the cells start to divide, and it implants, with a beginning placenta producing hCG, but then it stops in a day or two and fades. So a test when the placenta is producing hCG will give a positive, and a test after it fades will give a negative, all in the first couple of weeks after conception.
Hi Mandy. I have been using CVS and Rite-Aid brand tests and getting really, really faint lines. I don't know if a name brand is any better than a cheapie. I would definitely call your doctor and go in for a blood test, just to be sure.
Good luck hon!
Jane :)
The thing is that the positives were ahead of the negatives.
Some of the cheap ones are surprisingly sensitive. It might be that you have suffered a chemical pregnancy, or it might be that your urine was less dilute with the subsequent test.
Cheap ones work just fine. I used 4 and all said positive and I'm 6 weeks. Take a few more and if still inconsistent then get your blood checked at doctor to make sure.
