Hi, I too had a mc last year in november, after a year or ttc, so it was a major setback! I had been trying ever since my d&c, and it only last month that I got pregnant again..
About the lying down with semen in us.. I always did this and did NOT get pregnant all these months. Last month, on our ONLY bd night, I was sleepy, moody, and thought that probably its too tough to get pregnant and immediately got up after sex, 'washed' and went to bed... and BANG I am pregnant!! So there were days and days of BDing in the past few months, with me lying down after sex- no use.... and this one BD last month, with not even 2 minutes of semen in me.. and I am positive... its only a miracle!! :)
In my last week u/s scan, i got to know I have a tilted uterus.. so may be thats why the lying down with a pillow under my back was not helping at all!!!.. they say that if you have a tilted uterus, elevating your back when you lie down may cause the semen not to reach the uterus opening at all...
so dont worry.. it will happen when it has to.. you will not even get to know!! :-) Good Luck!
I am now almost 8 weeks preggs and enjoying myself!
I had a miscarriage last cot (2009) just got my bfp end of sept 2010. Took me a year. I'm 33 yrs old, and was afraid it would take too long!! everyone is different. Now that i am pg agai, I am soo afraid of another miscarriage.
Sticky baby dust to you.
as for your question.... Gravity will push it back out. You only need a tiny drop. I have heard that you should lay back down, preferrably with knees up, for 1/2 hr. I'm not sure in the truth to all of this....
I liked to look at my ovulation chart on the site babymed it is REALLY easy to see & understand. It goes day by day on a callander, instead of just listing a few days.
Yes it is normal for it to come out when you stand up. You can thank gravity for that one :) When we were ttc I would put a pillow under my butt after BD. Not sure if that helped but we got pregnant after a few cycles.
Dont blame yourself for the m/c. Sometimes bad things happen to good people. We are also two healthy, successful, honest people who have unfortunately had two m/c. It was super rough but you have to keep moving forward but giving yourself time to properly grieve. I hope you get a BFP soon. Sending lots of baby dust your way.
I would suggest tracking your BBT it will help you know when you ovulate, and maybe do OPKS, if your period are regular then you can use a online calculator to determine when you may ovulate. That is my suggestion on you TTC journey.
And about your question yes it is completely normal for the semen to come out when you stand up, it may seem like a lot but it is really both yours and his, Just because semen does come out doesn't mean that those swimmers haven't already made their journey up to your fallopian tubes lol. But keeping yourself elevated for a 1/2 hr is a good thing, just make sure you do go to the bathroom as it can cause a UTI.
