Stork bite

Taylor is 4 weeks old now and since she was born she had had a small pink staining on her forehead in between her nose, on her eye lid and aound her nose. The doctor told me at her birth that it should go away with time. So far it hasnt faded. I heard that they can stay and never go away in some cases! I was wondering if anyone has had a baby with this kind of stork bite or birthmark?? And when did it go away?? I just noticed today that she has it in her hair on the back of her head too! I thought it was a bruise and freaked out. Just wondering if anyone has ever gone through this. Its not really that noticable but for some reason it really bothers me. Please dont judge. I think she is perfect even with the marking, just wondering if it will ever go away.

Noah also has one on the back of his neck that extends half way up his head, that one hasn't faded at all but his hair covers most of it.

Noah had one when he was born, it was really big and red and extended to his eyelids, the dr said it would go away by his first birthday. It has faded a lot but he is 2 1/2 and you can still see it especially when he is mad. I used to get so sick of the stupid comments like "oh, does he have rugburn on his head?"
Evan has one as well but it is much lighter than Noah's.

Thank you ladies for all your imput! I also wanted to add that I dont know if I came across as being ashamed by the birthmarks on her face. Im not. But I do know how mean other children can be. I have lived it everyday growing up. I had severe scars all over my face. I had an accident when I was 2 years old that resulted in years worth of plastic surgery just to put my face back together. Then just before entering high school had another round of surgery to lessen the look of the scars. Needless to say on the first day of school my face was swollen and the scars that were supposed to look better looked alot worse for the next year as my face was healing. Now I can usually hide those scars but I still think about the torment and hell I got from other children. Now I know that Taylor's few little birth marks arent even in the same catagory as my scars but was just wondering how long stork bites/ birthmarks on the face generaly last. BTW- I just looked at the back of her neck and she has them there too! The angles and storks must really love my daughter, lol. I also call all my oldest son's freckles angle kisses! He hates when I do that but I always kiss his face when a new freckle appears (at least the ones I notice)

My niece has one that almost covers her nose and goes up onto her eye/lid. She turned a year in July and it's faded some, but it's still there.

My son had one just below his nose, and one on the back of his neck. He's 14 months old and the one on the back of his neck is still there. I have a coworker who had the same red mark on the back of his neck as a child, and as an adult he still has it. My pediatrician said they were normal, and sometimes they go away completely, sometimes they don't. He called the one on the back of DS's neck stork bites, and the one below his nose, just above his top lip he called angel kisses. Don't be ashamed that your daughter has the marks, it's just a birth mark.

My niece had one on her leg and 2 on her head that used to fill with blood and even bleed sometimes. The ones on her head have totally gone and the one on her leg has just left a small scar that is fading. She is 2 years old now

well daniel had one on his nose too!! You can see from my pics its between his nose and eyes as well..he still has that one..gets redder when hes crying or getting maad and he had two on the back of his head and there pretty much gone now if not gone completly!! I wouldnt worry daniel is 9 months old almost and his is still there! It has faded alot thou!! I dont think there supposed to fade until there skin stretches when they are getting older!! It has something to do with the blood under the skin that causes it! I googled it one day and did a ton of research!! lol Its quite interesting!! Dont worry hun i, sure it will go away some last up until there two years.!!

My dd had it on the back of her neck at her hairline.  It did go away completely, but i don't remember when.

Cooper has a small patch on the inside corner of his one eyelid.  He is 6 weeks today and its not fading yet.  His doctor didn't mention it, and i didn't think to ask her.
