What will happen at 40 week Dr appointment?

I'm going to be 40 weeks pregnant on Thursday, but I have a Dr appt on Wednesday. This is my second child. My first was born at 36 weeks, my bags ruptured in my sleep. So far this baby is very healthy and loving his womb home. My last appt my nurse practitioner said they don't induce labor until 42 weeks if everything is going well. So far my only complaint is swelling in my hands and feet. The swelling in my feet is so bad I can't walk.

So, does anyone have some advice? Anything I should ask? I'm ready for this muffin to come out. Any chance she will schedule my induction? What did you go through? Thanks a bunch!!

They may do a sweep, I delivered 2 of my kids within 24hrs of having a sweep. I personally would avoid induction, my first was induced and we had a terrible time of it, lots of folk do fine, but if I were you I would hang off another few days, baby will be here really soon, the last few days are torture I know, I've been overdue 3 times and was 6 days over when I had my last baby on the 13th...hang in there, it wont be long :)

Just tell them you want to be induced before 42 weeks
