am i having bloody show???? what do i do?

i am so happy...i went to the bathroom and a **sorry for grossness, but that is kind of what pregnancy is about it seems** big blob with blood came out!!!  is that my bloody show??  i have been losing stringy peices of my plug for weeks and thought it was all gone but now i have this gross, yet beautiful blob!!  i'm so happy!!  is this it??  i am one day overdue today...is it finally my turn???  i am crying tears of joy!  how much long do you think i have?

the doctor gets called if they think you are in labor- I don't think the nurses break the water sac-  not sure on that though..... someone else on here might know. My Doctor was the one who did it  both times- trying to move things along- and like I said- it worked.

I imagine this scenario - this was what happened to me on first pregnancy--- you go in for this week's checkup- hopefully tomorrow to see your obstetrician- he/she will check if you are dilated- On baby number one- week 38 they did manual check and I was dilated a fingertip- the next week (week 39) cervix was 2 cm dilated. Doc said see you 6 am tomorrow morning at hospital- we'll have a baby. At that point- baby one- I had not had any contractions- as I said I didn't even know what they felt like....well, I do now!
What are your contractions like? Little spasms or PAINFUL CRAMPS? that take your breath away? When they are PAIN and they are 5 minutes apart and consistent- call your doctor day or night..... He will meet you at the hospital

i think if you went to the doc they might just break your water....hunny i cant believe your still pregnant but hat bloddy show is a good sign! yay baby time soon!! It never hurts to try!! I say go on in and if they dont offer....ask!! Good luck hun..keep me posted!

abbysmommy-i'm going to just keep on moving, but am very discouraged at the fact that my contractions are spaced out more today...  i really feel defeated.

babygirl-do you think if i went to the hospital this week they would just break my waters like they did you?  unfortunately, my contractions have spaced out a bit today so i haven't even been timing them.  i don't know what is going on.  all i know is that i am not supposed to go in till i am in so much pain i can't even talk!!

well goodness- I thought you might write a quick line to say you were off to the hopsital- ok those contractions you are talking about- those easier ones I had all day at home on the day I delivered- hard to read----- here's the rest of my story:
I went in with only those lighter contractions- it was my 2nd baby and since I had epidural the whole time with first baby (13 years prior)  I truly didn't know how a STRONG contraction felt, I just knew they were 5 minutes apart. You are wiser than me I guess- you know the real thing is mind blowing.... but we went on in and one nurse thought I was in labor even with those light contractions by reading the monitor- now the other nurse thought I was not in labor-  the other gal won and I got to stay- we called the Dr. and he broke my bag of waters- My boss/friend was there with me and my husband- they asked me to go move around/walk and we went upstairs to look at the nursery babies. Right in front of the elevator I had a REAL contraction- I grabbed my friend's arm and almost doubled over- like the worst stomach cramp you can imagine, 100 times worse than menstrual cramps. My friend says "Now that was a real one"--- all those hours sitting with me at home, I guess she was laughing inside thinking- "yeah right honey, those are not the real thing!" but she never told me I couldn't be feeling real contractions/precious girl.... Within  ONE HOUR I delivered. They couldn't  even give me epidural because nurse said by the time they got it started good the delivery would be over. So with one Demerol shot and several pushes, and a little swearing, LOL it was all over. I love to share this story-  so excited for you. Please keep us informed.

Oh it will happen, the fact your having contractions is good.  It is not your fault, nor are you a failure.  The day before I had my dd, I went nuts cleaning my house.  Top to bottom and then some.........Maybe, just maybe today or atleast by tomorrow.  Again, it is not your fault, so stop thinking that way and just keep moving.  Keep your chin up and tell her everyone is getting impatient............lol

i can't believe it but i'm still pregnant!  i don't know what to do other than cry and feel sorry for myself!  contractions continued yesterday every 5-7 minutes but never got very painful so i didn't go to L&D.  i went to bed kind of early in case i needed to get up in the middle of the night to go to the hospital...the contractions woke me up at 4:30 this morning but again, were uncomfortable, but definitely not painful.  and they aren't happening often enough for me to time.  i have been cleaning my entire house for the last 2 hours and i have about 2 more hours of work to do.  hoping that will move things along.  i probably should have done more walking yesterday but with the hurricane, it was really nasty to be out driving around.  so, perhaps it's my fault for sitting on my butt most of the day.  did bounce on my ball, but maybe not enough.  why won't she come out?????  i had that one spat of gloppy bloody goo and nothing else!  i'm back to feeling discouraged and just want to cry!!!!!

i had a bloody show a couple of hours before i delivered my son the day before i had him i was in huge pain it was halloween and my back was killing shooting down to my legs i jsut knew he was coming out noone believed me my dad said ooo u didnt even drop yet lol i went to visit my parents went home around 330 am i went tot he bathroom and there it was my contactions were 15 mins apart within a hour 1 min apart i got to the hospital on 6 cm got an epdiural around 7 or 8 cm had carmine in 2 hours i dialted to 10 though like in 40 minz
so when those contractions go lower and lower gooo dont wait

oh yes i heard women screaming...I even saw my dr going from the room in front of me and the room behind me  to deliver both babies.. the women were screaming at the dr and at eachother... i need him more.. now i do.. and like 2 minutes apart you could hear the baby's cries...there were many babies born that day.. i even heard a hubby tell his wife "for f*ck sakes PUSH" and shes like shut the f*ck up, i'm pushing as hard as i can"..lol...my face was in shock...i never screamed either.. yes it hurts wont lie but i moaned and groaned abit thats about it.. no one out of the room heard me..the only thing i did say was i don't want to push.. it's going to hurt lol...but of course i pushed anyways... it is a wierd feeling having something there like that...a baby...esp when the baby comes all out.. your belly is like instant lypo lol its such a wierd feeling...my ex asked the dr if i could get a medal for not screaming.. he said i was probably the only that didnt say a word.. mind you before begging for the epidural i begged for a csection lol...im happy i didnt get one...i snapped on the nurse.. she said i would rather have natural birth and i asked her while in pain have you ever been induced and shes like yes and im like and have you ever had anymore and she said yup i booked my own csection lol...but you know as scary as it is.. like i said yes it hurts but in the end after you see that baby.. i was ready to do it all over again...

thank you so much!  i was actually in the hospital visiting my friend and her new baby just now...hehe!!!  ironic!  the contractions starting feeling more painful, but still not bad so i came home.  i am going to try to relax incase i have a long night ahead.  

babygirl-i haven't called my doctor.  i'm afraid it isn't the real thing and don't want to be an idiot...but if you think they may break my waters, it is tempting.  i think i will wait a few more hours and see what happens...

abbysmommy-yea, i thought i lost my whole plug too, but i haven't seen anything like this before.  no more blood since, but i did have another smaller stringy mucous with a very slight brownish beige tint to it...  i wish my water would just break so i could be sure it's time!!

cyw-i'm scared of hospitals which is why i want to labor here at home as long as possible!!!  seeing my dogs faces is much less scary than beeping machines and doctors and nurses running around!  wow, you really heard women screaming!  i think i will be the silent moaning type, but we will see!

mine happened Thursday prior to delivery: Went into labor the following Monday. I called my doctor and he still said to wait for contractions which took 5 days- and I was still 6 days before delivery date- baby was just ready- but yep-I betcha your plug is unplugged- I still remember the excitement.
Tell us- did you call the doctor and tell her/him?
Since you are one day overdue, I bet Dr. may go ahead and break water sac- that's what we did and 3 hours later we had a good size healthy baby boy-----let us know about the birth... Call doc. - could be delivery day!

That is a good sign, I had blood the morning I went into labor with my dd.  I thought I had lost all my plug and then had the bloody blob..            Oh I so hope she comes today........I am getting excited for you.  WALK WALK WALK.  That is what they made me do when i went to the hospital the first time.  She stripped my membranes again and told me to walk. It worked I was back at the hospital in a matter of 2 hours or so.  Good Luck!!!!!!

its so exciting and yet once you get to the hospital it's scary....people make labour sound REALLY bad... i heard people screaming and swearing...like OMG... they were natural.. some women walked in there at 8 that morning and had their babies by noon and there i was STILL not even induced.. about to have my water broken:(..prepare for that...not to scare you but people scream:S it *****...
