any ideas on getting contractions to stop?

Im only 28 weeks 5 days amd last night I went into l&d for back pain and ended up having to have a shot to get contractions to stop, and I was totally unaware of them. Well ive been suffering from severr hip/back/leg pains to wherr I can barely walk much less move. everytime I stand up or move alot I have a few contractions, spaced out pretty good but there still there. A few minutes ago I had two that were three minutes apart and lasted alot longer than the others have and had another one four minutes later just a second ago. They aren't painful but I can definitely tell their happening because my whole stomach gets rock hard and its shape even looks different, just like the ones last night when I was on the monitors. I do not want to go back to l&d and get a shot and sit there forever. That shot is awful and made my whole body shake like I done drank ten cups of coffee. Anyways does anybody have any ideas how to get these to stop? I know sounds like a crazy question.

My doc, and two my aunts who are l&d nurses said 50 mg of benedryl and 16oz of water. They should subside in an hr..benedryl is like the meds they give you to relax uterus and stop contractions. But you do it at home and save a trip

Well I took a hot shower and they stopped thank god!

Your probably in early stags of labour. This happened to me to only once. Should see your midwofe or doctor.

About a month and a half ago I was having bad contractions but i didn't kno that at the time they were contractions. I got sent how from work then took a couple of Tylenol and laid down and took a nap. when I woke up they were gone.
