I have a house with 2 boxers and a pissy old pom...all hyper and spoiled I've been wondering how that would work too lol
Our two akidas were very jealous of my daughter. We had to put them outside when my daughter crawling n walking bc they would tip her over. They chewed up all her toys and shed alot of hair, so didnt allow them in playrm. They growled at her till this day n shes 3yrs old. I dont trust them with her so left them with my inlaws. However, our rmmate has a lil dog and they get along so well
Thanks for the helpful tips and tricks i will be sure to try them :)
Dont worry dog will adapted

My doctor suggested that when the baby arrives to bring extra blankets and wrap your new baby in it for a night to get the scent all over it. The next day have your partner or family member take the blanket home and put it somewhere the dog goes frequently...dog bed, couch, chair, etc. It will show your dog that this scent isnt threatening but something of comfort and regularity
I would start toning down the attention now. If you haven't done any obedience training, now is the time. he needs to learn firm commands that he always follows. Places like petco (the store) offer fairly inexpensive training classes for dogs. I tend to treat my doggies like kids. But they do need to understand the hierarchy of members of the house. Dogs are pack animals. You need to be boss and the baby needs to be presented as higher in the pack than the dog. otherwise, he'll try to dominate the baby. It needs to be the other way around. good luck and peace
Good to know... my dog is really hyper he is ajack russel and he loves to have attention so im worried about what he will act like when he isnt getting the attention he gets now. Thank you
Yes, I did. She was a little baffled by the baby and why I was so focused on 'it' rather than "her'. LOL I would try to have some people bring their babies over (if you know anyone) just so your dog can have a tiny bit of experience before baby arrives. Worked out fine for us, doggie adjusted. :>)
