job interview

I am 23 weeks pregnant and have an interview tomorrow for a job at subway.. I'm nervous being pregnant and all that they wont hire me. I need out of my current job before I end in early labor over stress.. I need a job. I've worked at subway before so I don't need a lot of training. I also applied last night and they called in 24 hours so I'm hoping that means they really need people. Anyone else deal with this?

I actually dont even think u need to tell them ur pregnant. At least here in canada you only need to tell them i think its 30days before you take ur maternity leave.

My interview is at 6-630, so ill go for 6. When the guy called I could've hugged him through the phone haha. Long story but my job is being very discriminative, and treats me poorly, along with others but I've contacted corporate and it's like one ear out the other. I recently had gotten a doctors note stating I need to break every 4 hours for 15-20 minutes and the manager gave me a hard time. Said she couldn't give me the break then let 2 minors go at once when I was there first and everything. Main reason I got the note was my feet swelling and hurting me and they would give me a hard time about a small break and I know on PA they don't have to, so I got the note. I was 15 minutes over 4 hours and I do intend on speaking to a lawyer because I was also told once church is open 24/7 and I don't need to go during a work meeting was implied. Lots of other things and all have been told to the higher ups, so, I need a new job, I am a hard worker, problem is I care too much about the job.. can't help it.. so I pray I get the job.

I managed a subway for 4 years as long as you are planning on being there for a while and you let them know you will be coming back after taking time off with baby they should hire you. Make sure to be presentable and 10-15 minutes early for your interview. Punctuality and cleanliness and a professional appearance are key! Dress for the job you want not the job you have! Good luck

I fully plan to tell them, and I will stay at whatever job I have even after she's here. I know what to do its not hard, I worked there for a few months when I was 17, the one in the mall here and It was holiday season so I know busy! This one hardly gets business. I need out of my current job.

I actually started working at subway abouy three weeks ago. I didnt tell them right away cause I wanted to show them i'm a hard worker and I wasnt gonna let it hold me back. When i told my manager she was really excited. Im currently 31 weeks. It's hard on my feet but I gotta be able to support my little dude!

It's a tough call, since some places really can't afford to hire someone who they can tell will soon need some time off.  Even though you are already trained, they will think you aren't going to get your feet under you entirely in their shop and with their system for about a month, and then you'll be gone in a couple more months.  And if you *don't* tell them you are pregnant, they are going to know soon enough (if they can't tell by looking), and will be mad that you didn't reveal such a material fact about your availability.  You don't want to look to them like you are dishonest.

What I might do in this situation is stress strongly that you are already trained, and then say your only caveat is that from (date) to (date) you have a prior commitment that cannot be changed during which you can't be available to work.  You don't have to say why, but it would be good to say that.  They can't ask you "Is this because you are pregnant?" but they might not feel like demanding the explanation if you are so clear that while that time window is not available, all other times are.  If you look able and bright-eyed and clean cut, you might look good enough that they won't care if you need a month or two off in a few months.  (Especially if you intend fully to come back.)
