I did with last pregnancy. he tried to come early but was healthy. he rarely gets sick either. i had smoked about 5 a day. Couldn't completely quit but the smoke made me sick and couldn't stand any more than a few. smokeless with this pregnancy though
how early did he try to come? and there was no complications at birth or the look of baby?
I smoked through my whole pregnancy with my son. He is a healthy 7 year old! I am 16 weeks pregnant with my 2nd baby and I am still smoking. I cut back with both pregnancies.
Ive smoked about 3 or 4 a day and im almost 15 weeks and so far no complications, i do want to quit though because i dont want to be that unlucky person with an unhealthy baby.
My best friend smoked with both her pregnancies and they are all very healthy!
Every pregnancy is different so just because someone elses was fine doesnt mean yours wull be or vise versa
I smoked half pack of cigarettes a day when pregnant with my daughter she was born perfectly healthy and hardly gets sick now.
I went into labor at 28 weeks. they think dehydration caused it. it was easy to stop. and actual labor was normal. I had him at 36 wks. he didn't have any trouble and scored high on everything. I was given a steriod shot at 28 weeks though just in case. He also weighed 8 lbs 1 oz so smoking didn't effect his birth weight either
oh wow kk it kinda worries me...i smoke 3 to 4 a day i know its different with everyone...everything was with me is great and developed so far as well! just asking questions
I only knew one person who continued smoking (more than 3-5 a day) during pregnancy and she did carry to full term, but had to stay in the hospital for a while because her boy had some respiratory issues. He's 6 now and has athsma. That would be enough for me to try my best to quit if I did smoke- but it is your body and your baby's life, nobody elses.
With that being said, either way donnabaker442 is correct! Some mom's who don't smoke have babies with respiratory issues too.
I'm not judging anyone cause I know it's a hard habit to kick I was lucky that it was easy for me.
But is it really worth the risk?
My aunt smoked her whole pregnancy and only a few a day and he was born 2 months early and only weighed about 3 lbs. and had a lot of complications. Some people are very lucky that they're kids come out perfectly healthy babies but some people aren't so lucky. So good luck, I hope you can at least cut back cause its really just a guessing game on if the baby will be healthy or not and personally I never wanted to take that risk.
I have heard of this but why would you even risk it. My bfs mom smoked with him while she was pregnant and he was born with small bronchular tubes. My step sister smoked with her son and he is sick a lot and constantly gets ear infections. Not only that but it can cause low birth weight and a ton of other things. If you wouldn't blow smoke in your baby's face after its born, then it doesn't really make sense to smoke while pregnant because they breathe in everything you breathe. But I was a smoker myself and I know its hard to quit but you should at least try to cut back.
My ex sil smoked when she was prego and they discovered at 20 wks that bladder or kidneys wasn't developing. she carried to term but he died 3 days after being born. We found out later on that she had smoked weed also. it was really sad. most problems like that are there before we ever realize we were pregnant unfortunately.
i only smoke 3 not a pack was just asking for suggestions you dont think i k ow smoking is bad?
anyways i was just asking for the people that still do smoke or that have smoked...what their babies werre like
ya i had my 20 week us and everything has developed fine
Have you talked to your doctor about it? I know they will tell you the best thing to do is quit but if you inform that its going to be impossible, some will work with you. My Bestie is 24 weeks and smokes about half a pack a day. This is her 3rd pregnancy. :) both her other boys are healthy and very smart!
That's good. i still haven't gotten mine yet but impatient and nervous at the same time. I haven't smoked, drank or did drugs but i know there is still a chance for something bad to happen. I guess I've heard too many bad storys on here :(
she knows she said keep it iunder 3....ya alot do have heathy babies and some dont i guess...
My mom smoked when she was pregnant with me and I have really bad asthma from it...
Miley, I am very proud of you for.cutting back. Smoking, for those of you who don't know, is actually harder to quit than heroin. Yes it can cause complications, but unfortunately, as with cancer, and most other diseases and health problems, they don't discriminate. You could go your whole pregnancy and do everything perfect and still lose your child. That being said, shame on those of you who were lecturing. It may have been out of the caring of your heart, but she needs our support, not our criticism. Miley, the only reason I was able to quit is because the smell started making me sick. Yes if you can quit that's great, but if you can't at least you cut back. You should be proud. Unfortunately this is also a public forum, so I am sure you realized there would be some criticism. Try not to take it too much to heart, you don't need the stress. Plus, telling someone with an addiction that they should quit, shaming them, and lecturing them isn't going to do anything to help. Good luck Miley. There is no gaurantee everything will be perfect whether you smoke or not. Just try to relax and take care of yourself and dont stress. My mom smoked with both,my brother and I, and we had bo complications, we have no breathing problems, and have had no adverse health effects.
I wasn't trying to be a *****, and actually I do know what its like, I've been smoking for years and am quite aware that it is an addiction. But when I found out I was pregnant and was told about the problems it could cause for my child, I decided it wasn't worth the risk. And not just cigarettes either, I was smoking pot daily as well. Yes its hard to quit, but I'm just saying why take the risk. Fortunately it is your choice. But yes I agree that cutting back to 3 cigarettes a day is a really good start and yes you should be proud of that. Good luck to you.
thx i think im gona stop completly tho because i think it might affect the movement of my baby
