Heavy bleeding but did not miscarry

Has anyone done this? I was 9 weeks preg on saturday, and I have felt fine. Anyways I was over at my sisters house next door, just finished watching a movie, stood up to come home, and blood just gushed out of me. Just like I was on a normal perood. My sister and I were freaking out. But I walked home, took a bath to clean myself up and went to bed. I was literally afraid to move! I never passed a bloodclot that I'm aware of. I did see 2 very small clots after I wiped, but other than that, nothing. But the blood was bright red. Anyways, went to hospital the next day. Doctor did an internal exam, and said I had stopped bleeding...there was only old blood visible. Had blood work taken. Hcg levels were at 70,973. He said that was good but even if the baby had already died the levels still could be up like that. Went for an ultrasound today. I was expecting the worst. Thought the baby had died but that I just had not passed it yet. But to my surprise, he/she was still in there. Moving around with a strong heartbeat!! I couldnt believe it. I still have to go go back tomorrow for more bloodwork to be done. Wanna see if the Hcg levels have doubled. Does anyone know what could have happened??? My ovaries also looked fine. I do not not know what to think. Im so afraid Im going to miscarry. =(

Yes, I have I am going through a miscarrige right now. I am so upset about this. I am not getting a D and C because its so early. I found out the news yesterday at the doc when my HCG levels started dropping.
How are you now? Whats your status? I am here if you need to talk.

I am almost 7wks pregnant and started spotting last wednesday.  It really worried me as it was about this time during my last pregnancy that I miscarried so I went straight to the dr.  A scan confirmed a strong heart beat, sac etc which reassured me.  Now today I have had very heavy bleeding and cramping, my specialist said 40% of woman bleed in the first trimester & it could get heavier & with a really healthy scan it has reduced my chances of miscarriage to 4%.  Although great news it is still worrying.  Has anyone else experienced this?

I'm going through the same thing kind of.   I went to the Dr.'s for my first prenatal visit and they did a transvaginal ultrasound which indicated I was 6wks 2dys, the baby's heart rate was at 96, and that was on the 9th.  After that I started spotting none on a pad though.  To this day (16th) Im still spotting but a little heavier now still with no cramps.  They did another transvaginal ultrasound and it showed I was still 6wks and 2dys and I should of been 7wks and 2dys.  The heart rate went down to 90 but my HCG levels went from 2400 to 2900.  They said that was the only good thing.  They put me on progesterone and told me just to wait it out cause they have no idea what my body is doing.  Has anyone had this prob before or am I the first abnormal person out there?

Thank you so much for sharing your experience. I tell ya, this definately has shook me up. I would not have been so worried if the bleeding had started out slow, but when I stood up it just sort of gushed out of me. I have never been so terrified. But the ultrasound reassured me that maybe everything will be okay. Especially when I saw that lil' person at 9 weeks old, moving around and hearing the heart beat.
