Iron medication rock and a hard place!!!

as a HG sufferer i have discovered a pattern to the onset of my severest sickness sessions. It seems to tie in wirh when i take my iron medication as i was low in iron at my last blood tests. Ive changed from the tablets to the syrup but the effect is still the same 20mins later causes me to be so ill i cant breathe plus it flares up other pressure problems Ive had at the moment due to the steain. Feel so frustrated as i know I need the medication for the iron but its not helping with the other problems and also im not keeping down food and water well.

Anyone else experienced this problem? What did you do?

36 weeks and 3 days and counting :), xx

It's really pretty nasty looking, but who is going to see it if you aren't posing for Playboy in the next few months.

Ive tried mixing the liquid with orange juice, taking it morning, afternoon and night with a little food without food so  Ive exhausted possibilities. Will see what the midwife says Thursday and get as much food in me as i can. thank you so much again for sharing xx

Try the brand iron up. Its a liquid my ped rec for kids so they don't get constipated.

I'm taking them also and the nurse told me to drink a lot of real orange juice when I take it because it helps break the pill down.

Iron comes as a shot, too.  It gives you a huge black bruise looking thing on your butt, but at least you are not having to deal with it going through your stomach and kidneys as it does when you take it as a pill or liquid.
