tattoos

I know most all moms are going to flip out over controversial topics like this but I just got to ask.. I have a good number of tattoos and have never once had anything go wrong with them as far as infections and stuff so I decided to get another one the other day its on my arm and feels and looks great.. I am 21 weeks pregnant but not really showing I read all the papers and saw nothing about pregnancy and risks associated with tattoos.. I could understand if you were getting one directly on your baby bump but like I said I got it on my arm.. Does any one els feel like its OK to do so uf you know your body your artist and your pain talorance ??.. I know for a fact that were I go is clean and safe. And I have wonderful hygiene So I feel there is nothing wrong with it

The baby does not feel the pain of a tattoo, nor does he or she feel the pain we feel. The risk is very small, that you would contract a disease. This would be a concern in a dirty shop. I would only be concerned about the mercury in tattoo inks... I'm not sure what the amounts are but I'd bet it's only a fraction of what's in the vaccines which are pumped right into our blood streams. You are right, there are very few warnings because there so few and small risks.

If you "know there is nothing wrong with it" then why ask on here? Just going to get a bunch of s*** for it.

I for one think it was a bad choice.

OMG.  As a wife to a tattoo artist shame on whoever inked ur body the risks of infection are very high due to your immunity  being low. Ur only pregnant for 9 months. Selfish of u not to wait smh

There's never a guarantee of no infection no matter how clean you think the place is. During pregnancy, your immune system is at its lowest so even small chance of infections should be taken seriously. I wouldn't think the tattoo is urgent enough to take a risk but if you've already done it then just please watch intently for any sign of infection

You aren't going to find many people who agree with you on here unfortunately. Pregnancy seems like forever but it really isnt and things can wait. Everything that goes into or on our body gets in our blood and reaches our baby. Period.
Hope it was worth it
