Can anyone give me an explanation?

What exactly is a breakthrough bleed?

Ok because, as you've probably read already, I had a light bleed last week for 2 days when my period was due but I wasn't sure if it was my period and I was curious because I've seen the word 'breakthrough bleed' a couple of times and wasn't exactly sure what it meant :) thankyou :)

yes it can happen during pregnancy and is usually caused by hormanal levels, and  usually  happens during the first trimester

Abnormal bleeding. As in, anytime you bleed between periods.
