Could I be pregnant?

I know this is a very common question I am sure. My last period was December 11, 2014, I must of ovulated around the 24-25th. I had sex once last month on the 28th. For about a week now I'm having clear/milky discharge. I went to the doctors last week they did swabs & a pregnancy test but it came back negative but told me to come back in next week  if my period didn't come (they said it was to early to test anyways( but I am so anxious to wait. My expected period was on January 7th, which makes me 3 days late. I have a loss of appetite, feeling very thirsty all the time. I am also sleepy. Can I be pregnant? or  something else be wrong?

I hope you are OK with not being pregnant.  It is a worry being late on a monthly cycle if you do not want a pregnancy.

Sorry, but with you saying that you were having a clear/milky discharge I presumed that this was from your breasts.  Now that you have said that the discharge was due to a yeast infection, I understand that it was from the vagina.  I trust that your doctor gave you the appropriate medication to treat this and your sexual partner.

Bear in mind that your sexual partner may need to be treated too.  Don't have sex until you are clear, otherwise you will just be passing it on to each other.

Don't use normal soaps, use the ones that have the same pH level as our skin, or ones without perfume.  The baby washes will be fine.  Wear cotton pants - avoid the manmade fibre ones (nylon), they will make you sweat more, fungus loves warm moist places.    Sometimes there is no discharge with a fungal infection, but there may be itching or soreness.  There are different creams and also capsules to take by mouth to treat yeast infections, depending where the yeast infection is.

Make sure that you do drink plenty of fluids and especially water.  2 litres a day is usually recommended, more if you sweat a lot.

If you do find that you get yeast infections a lot, do get your doctor to arrange for you to have a glucose test done.  People with glucose intolerance (pre diabetes) and people with diabetes are prone to getting yeast infections.

Do bear in mind too, that being on a course of antibiotics can also bring on yeast infections.

A good home remedy for yeast infections, especially if you are itching and can't get antifungal medications soon, is to apply natural set yogurt to cleaned and gently dried genitals or eating the yogurt if the fungus is in the mouth and throat.  You can do this for as long as is needed without getting any side effects (unless you are have an allergy to dairy if you eat the yogurt).  It is also safe for blokes to use the yogurt remedy if they get symptoms of Thrush.  Men though, don't always get any symptoms with Thrush.

It is too early to say for definite.

Feeling thirsty all the time and sleepy may signs of diabetes.  Did you get checked out for that.  If now and you continue to feel very thirsty, ask the doctor to check you out for diabetes.  He may do a HBA1C blood test or refer you to have glucose test done.

If you eat a lot of salty foods that too can make you feel thirsty.
