I should have said I have epilepsy so I'm suppose to for the babies health if I tale less my baby can have birth defects I see the doc every 2 weeks to check on my baby and my baby is healthy as I know so far
I would say take the recommended dose that's on the box. It also says on the box if you take more than what it's recommended what could happen. I most definitely wouldn't say take eight a day...that's hard to believe someone could do that.
Wow! Thanks geekmom and alexandria i had a feeling not to which is why i havent yet but seriously no idea it was that dangerous!
no definitely do not take more than one prenatal vitamin unless recommended by your ob-gyn. I accidentally took more than the recommended dosage because I didn't know and when I went to the hospital they ended up having to call poison control. You don't wanna pump too many vitamins into your body it's dangerous it could be very dangerous for you and even dangerous for your baby. luckily for me I wasn't taking the vitamin for a long Period Of time and so they said that I was fine but I had to stop taking them immediately and I couldn't take anymore prenatal vitamins for 2 weeks. its very dangerous only take one.
Henleybaby - EIGHT prenatal vitamins a day?!?!? Stop doing that. You're poisoning your body and your child's.
To mamadanielle AND henleybaby - Many of those vitamins are water soluble and extras are excreted in your urine but the rest are fat soluble and cannot be excreted so easily. They can be toxic if you take too many and being as that you're growing a person who's much smaller than you the levels can become toxic to your baby significantly faster than may be noticeable in an adult's body. If you want to put your daily vitamin in your smoothie, go for it. Just the one, though. If you needed more than one daily then they'd be prescribed that way.
Woah thats so many! Think ill be cautious till i see my doc next. Thanks! :)
No I take 8 prenatal vitamins and 4 folic acid and 2 calcium a day I think your fine I eat healthy and my doctor said nothing about take less
You should only take the recommended dose you don't want to over pump your body an the baby
