Ugh, it's so hard to find affordable housing. We had to look only in certain areas in which it was more reasonably priced. It wasn't exactly the part of the city we wanted to live in but we needed to find something affordable.
It's hard. Hope you find something soon. Oh, and the landlord increased the price you agreed on? ;That is something I'd call the housing authority about because one has to wonder if he just decided he didn't want to rent to you (baby coming and lots of landlords prefer no children). It's illegal to discriminate for any reason and instead of refusing to rent to you, one of the way landlords do it is to tell you the price is now higher. ugh.
We were living with my father in law when I was pregnant with my daughter. We finally moved into an apartment complex about six weeks before she was born. It wasn't the ideal set up (no washer/dryer hookups, had to use the laundry mat which I'd never done before) but it was a place of our own again. (My father in law got divorced soon after we got married and needed help getting back on his feet, so when our first lease was up we rented a house with him).
We finally bought a house last year so thankfully I don't have to worry about housing this time! The only question now is whether or not to make the kiddos share a room...
Yess. It's so difficult. I don't want to stay where we're at now. But it's so hard to save up when my boyfriends grandpa is making him pay $100 a week and he only makes $260 a week. Yet he pays the rent for his cousin which is $500 a month and doesn't even worry about him paying him back! These hormones are gonna make me go off sooner or later. /:
