The bacteria is found in the retctum as well. So your doctor will swab your vagina or butt. My doctor swabbed my armpits, nostrils and vagina. I tested positive as well.

It's a bacteria that comes and goes in women's vaginas which is why they test for it towards the end of pregnancy. If you go into labor without antibiotics and the baby has its mouth open it can cause sepsis among other things that's why they give you antibiotics when you start labor to prevent that. i tested positive and they explained everything and i did alot of research afterwards to make sure my baby was going to be ok

Its looking for a certain type of bacteria that lives is some women's vaginas. Its normal and doesn't effect you, but when the baby is born, if you have it, it could get on the baby and cause an infection. So they test you to see if you have it and of you do when you go into labor they give you antibiotics to treat it. Its normal and it'll just come right back after you're done with the medication but they trrat it while you give birth. I had my test done yesterday.
