I am addicted to iv dilaudid and i just found out i am pregnant I NEED ADVICE I am about 8 weeks along and go to my first dr apt this week what should i tell my dr? I am worried about the health of my baby and if they will involve the state? I want to quit but everything i read said do not go cold turkey  PLEASE HELP ME

Do not quit cold turkey because you could have a miscarriage. You need to get on methadone or subutex, I am on subutex and have heard a lot better things than the methadone but methadone is also safe for you and baby. I just talked to someone who was on methadone their whole pregnancy and baby was born with no withdrawals. Just don't get too worried right now because it's still early but you need to get help as soon as you can for your baby. Be completely honest with your doctor and maybe start looking around now for a treatment clinic! Good luck! Everything will be fine! The sooner you get help the better!

That's why I say do subutex an u can go down while pregnant an be off by time your third tri. Hits!:) and you and baby will be clean but you'll need help staying that way too though.

I live in Georgia I want to come off everything completely and i hear methadone  withdrawals are worse than anything

Oh and I'm sure you have read the dangers of stopping cold turkey, and since so people on here don't know I'm sure they will tell you to do that.

Subutex!!!!! Not methadone as you do that you'll be fine. They'll probably tell u methadone is best but its not subutex is so much better for you an the baby and you can go to a doctor get a Rx. An go home instead of going to a methadone clinic everyday. What state are you in if you don't mind me asking

Yes I agree tell your doctor. Congrats on your pregnancy and I wish you good luck. It may be hard to quit but keep trying! :)

TELL YOUR DOCTOR. the state shouldn't get involved but if you do it through your pregnancy something can happen to your baby
