My 3 year old (at the time) was in the room for my entire labor except for the pushing and delivery. I did have the epidural so she didnt have to see me in pain but she was good. It was a good experience and i think it helped her feel included. She was also the first one (aside from her daddy) to see and hold her sister after she was born.
I wouldn't want to scare her but I also don't want to leave her out. I will have my bf in the room. I will have to talk to the doctor about it. Not sure its even allowed.
My dr doesn't allow it. Even at appointments he says kids are fine but may be asked to leave if beed be so please bring another adult to accompany them.
My hospital won't allow anyone under 16 to be in the room
When I was 4 my mom had me In the room for her best friend who they are like sisters. I tell u it's the best birth control lol.. idk how u raise your daughter but my mom was open with me and they both wanted me in the room do what u feel is right ots no one else's decision
I'm not sure if she's allowed but I image her seeing you in that situation and a baby being born would probably freak her out lol
More than likely you'll have to ask what your hospital allows. I see no problem with it if you also have your partner or someone else in there to watch her, or take her out of the room if something were to go wrong (like emergency c section), or if she got uncomfortable watching you go through the pain.
