You should really call a lactation consultant they're amazing I used one and they're free.
He does have a tongue tie but in the hospital they said itbwasnt a problem bcuz he latched when nurses helped
Check out YouTube. They have some video tips on how to help get the latch.
My baby had the same problem and at the hospital they gave me a nipple shield it actually helps him and i get to have tat moment with him
My baby wouldn't open her mouth wide enough and latch because of the lanolin i had to stop using it and she started latching perfectly. Im not really sure what else i could suggest sorry!
Call a lactation consultant. That's what I did with my first baby. She came to my house and helped me get his latch right. Call ur wic office.
Just in case they did check for tongue tie and such?
I was using lanolin but my nipples are no longer cracked or dry. They don't irritate me. Ive tried pumping and then giving him my breast but he still doesnt open his mouth or suckle hard enough.
Have you tried pumping a little while then offering him your breast sometimes the pumping can pull the nipple out enough for baby to latch and try rubbing your nipple on the bottom lip or even touch the tip of his nose with it to make him open his mouth wider. Are you using any creams or anything on your nipples?
